These two cantatas, composed at twenty years
of age, were considered too difficult to play
at the time. They are accompanied by two other
works with choir:
- Auf der Tod Kaiser Josephs II, cantata for
soloists, choir and orchestra, WoO 87;
- Auf die Erhebung Leopold des Zweiten, cantata
for soloists, choir and orchestra, WoO 88;
- Opferlied ("Die Flamme lodert"),
for soprano, choir and orchestra, Op. 121b;
- Meerestille und glückliche Fahrt, cantata
for choir and orchestra, Op. 112.
Performed by the Corydon Orchestra, with John
Mark Ainsley, Corydon Singers, Jose van Dam,
Jean Rigby, Janice Watson, conducted by Matthew
Best and Maciej Rakowski.
