This small virtual museum gathers together actual elements in many places,
and also allows you to see those which no longer exist. Here are images,

| Schwarzspanierhaus |
| The Schwarzspanierhaus was the last dwelling of Beethoven. It was destroyed in 1904. It's name, "house of the Black Spaniards", arises from its use by Spanish friars who wore black robes. |

The string quartet of Beethoven, given by Prince Moritz von Lichnovsky a little before 1802. One of the violins, signed Nicholas Amatus, probably dating from the 18th century. The other, signed Joseph Guarnerius, dating from the second half of the 18th century. The viola comes from the maker Johann Anton Gedler, also comes from the second half of the 18th century. The clarinet is one which Beethoven gave to a young clarinetist aged 10, during the summer of 1826, which he passed with his brother at Gneixendorf. The little boy lived at Krems, and later became a celebrated clarinetist. On the other side, it is possible to see the marks made by his teeth on the mouthpiece, evidence of its frequent use. I imagine that both he and Beethoven were made very happy by the gift, Beethoven because he was fond of children and he delighted in encouraging them towards a musical vocation, and the little boy because he would have been aware of Beethoven's greatness and so the gift would have immense value for him. The piano is one of the three which it is certain that Beethoven owned. It is made by Conrad Graf, who probably gave it to Beethoven on 26th January 1826 (his Broadwood, a gift from the latter, was in very bad repair). The piano is varnished mahogany and is 4,43 meters long. The keys are
of ivory and ebony. Its range is from C 0 to F 6. The Graf is the last
of Beethoven's pianos. Source: Beethoven-Haus Bonn - Cd "Beethovens Klavier" The two other pianos, the Erard piano (of 1809, without doubt) is on display in a museum in Linz, and the Broadwood, received in 1813, is to be found in a museum in Budapest. |

Glasses and ear trumpets of Beethoven. The Czech Johann Nepomunk Maelzel, genius inventor, notably of the metronome, created various appliances to aid Beethoven with his failing hearing: ear trumpets, listening systems attached to the piano, etc. |
